Elizabeth Ann Leemon Kelly, age 90, passed away on June 16, 2017 at River City Care in Decatur, Alabama. She was born November 23, 1926 to E.H. “Hermon” Leemon and Christeen Hawkins Leemon.
She was a graduate of Priceville High School and an avid Auburn fan.
Elizabeth was a real estate agent for many years in Decatur. She was a Million Dollar Club Realtor and enjoyed meeting newcomers to the area. She was a member of Decatur’s Southside Baptist Church where she sang in the choirs and taught Sunday School. She was also an agent for the Morgan Co. Co-op Extension. In earlier years, she served as secretary and ceramics director at Carroll St. Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reverend Jasper Kelly and her parents. She loved her work as a minister’s wife.
Left to remember her are her children, Rance Kelly (Joan), Martha Kelly Bailey Sharp (Tommy), and Teena Kelly Williams (Glenn); grandchildren, Gina W. Roose (Tad), Melissa B. Lewis (Cliff), Ryan Williams (Virginia), David Bailey (Michelle), A.J. Williams (Tawny) and Rance Dean Kelly (Annette). John Sharp (Leighanne), Jeff Sharp (Andrea), and Jason Sharp. She leaves 14 great-grandchildren.
The service will be tomorrow, June 20th at Shelton Funeral Home. The visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with service to follow at 3 p.m.
