Homer L. Pounders, 70, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Posey officiating. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the funeral service. Homer's final resting place will be in the Hopewell Church of Christ Cemetery, LaGrange Road, Leighton, AL.

Homer retired from BASF after 37 years of service. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Pounders, the husband of Carol Flakes Pounders for 51 years, the father of Kelly Pounders, Whitney Pounders, and Colton Haggamaker, the grandfather of Elizabeth and Haley Mitchell, and the brother of Tony Pounders, and the late Carl, Clifford, and Junior Pounders.
