Funeral service for John Franklin Shand, age 73, of Decatur, will be Saturday, July 7, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hank Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour pirior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Burningtree Cemetery.
Mr. Shand, who died Wednesday, July, 4, 2012 at his residence, was born August 20, 1938, in Selma, Alabama to Frank Shand and Doris Frith Shand. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Decatur Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Mary Shand of Decatur and his brother, Robert Yelverton of Angleton Texas.
Pallbearers will be Joe White, Chris White, Chad Franklin, Glen Franklin, Keith Friend and Joe Raia.
