Funeral Service for William Russell Johnson, age 82, of Trinity, who died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Ardmore on Main Care & Rehabilitation Center, will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Mason and Rev. Charles Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Decatur City Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born March 3, 1930 in Decatur to Russell Johnson and Vera Rouse Johnson. He served ten years in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Jewell Pylant Johnson of Trinity; one son, Perry Russell Johnson of Trinity; and one sister, Mildred Kolb of Kalamazoo, MI.
