At her request, a graveside service for immediate family only will be held on Tuesday, August 15, at 11:00 AM. Services will be provided by Shelton’s Funeral Home with Reverend Richie Thompson officiating. The family welcomes visitors from 3-5 on Tuesday afternoon at 2317 Cumberland Ave. SW, Decatur. Mrs. Nancie, was born March 22, 1945, to Calvin and Lillie Stinson in Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Doug Campbell, her brothers, Roland Stinson, Ray Stinson (Maureen), Sam Stinson (Rose), Richard Stinson, and Bob Stinson (Carmen), and Happy Hal Stinson, one sister Louise / Sissy Sanders (Lloyd). Mrs. Nancie was a graduate of West Morgan High School. After she was married, she and Doug settled in Decatur. Their only child Gina was born in January 1965. Mrs. Nancie was a homemaker for 12 years until she began working for Eckerd Drugs which later became CVS. She then moved to Rite Aid on Danville Road where she finished her career after 33 years. She loved working with people and people loved her. Through the years she made many friends that she loved dearly from the drug store. She was always positive, funny, and humble. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially the time she got to spend with Trent when he was young. She enjoyed family gatherings for special days and holidays, and she loved cooking great meals for all to enjoy. She loved spending time working in her yard and shopping with Gina and Woody. She read her devotional daily, then texted the picture of the verse to her family. Her favorite quote was “Worry is like sitting in a rocking chair, you are moving but not going anywhere. Pray instead of worrying.” Her favorite verse was “God’s words remind us that careless words stab like a sword, but wise words bring healing” (Proverbs 12:18) Survivors include one child, Gina Doran (Woody), Decatur Al, one Grandson Trent Doran (Ali), Priceville, AL, and two great grandchildren, Cole Doran, and Macon Doran. Pallbearers will be friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. As she was suffering with pain in the hospital she said, “So many little kids are going through so much worse.”
