Barbara Ann Vest Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral service for Barbara Ann Vest, age 76, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, February 5, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 501 County Road 201, Danville, AL, with Rev. Tim Keenum officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. prior to service. Interment will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Barbara, who died Saturday, February 2, 2019, at her residence, was born January 14, 1943, in Lawrence County, to Edward Brandon Vest and Lee Nell Looney Vest. She worked for the Morgan County Revenue Commissioner's office before her retirement. She had a soft place in her heart for pets who needed a home; she never met a stray she did not like. However, she will be best known for the unconditional love she showed to her family and friends. Perhaps her greatest legacy is the same enduring selfless trait her children show to their loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Brandon Vest and Lee Nell Vest. She is survived by her children and their families: Jon and wife, Holly, Vest, granddaughters, Abby Vest, Ali Smith (Hunter), and great-grandson, Ross Smith, all of Decatur; Joey and wife, Elaine, Vest, granddaughters, Grace and Anna, all of Lake Jackson, TX; and Brad and wife, Alicia, Vest, and grandson, Brandon, all of Fleetwood, NC.
