Joyce Ramona Yount

Funeral service for Joyce Ramona Aaron Yount, age 82, of Decatur, will be today, October 13, 2017,  11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.  Sandra Locke-Godbey officiating.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.    Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Yount, who died Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Country Cottage Assisted Living, was born April 12, 1935, in Pasadena, TX, to Lee Aaron and Mary Donovan Aaron Sandstrum.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Maben Max Yount, Sr.; son, Richard Yount; parents; six brothers, Clyde Aaron, Otis Aaron, Harry Aaron, Charlie Aaron, Ed Aaron, and Loyd Aaron; and two sisters, Nina Mae Jacobs and Hazel Martin.  She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church for 47 years. She is survived by two sons, Maben Yount, Jr. (Jan) of Decatur, and Anthony Yount (Debbie) of La Vista, NE; one brother, Walter Aaron (LaVita) of La Porte, TX; four grandchildren, Jason Yount (Brooke) of Birmingham, Amanda Woods (Will) of Decatur, Cassondra Keeney (Chris) of Omaha, NE, and Aaron Yount of LaVista, NE; and eight great-grandchildren, Taylor Woods, Amari Woods, Anna James Yount, Brayden Woods, Ryder Keeney, Mollie Yount, Treyden Keeney, and Kenzlie Keeney. Pallbearers will be Will Woods, Jason Yount, Aaron Yount, Jon Hopper, Matt Hopper, and Andy Hammond. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
