Marilyn Ruth Reist

Funeral service for Marilyn Ruth Reist, age 82, of Hartselle, AL, will be Tuesday, May 29, 2018, 4:00 p.m., at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to service.  Mrs. Reist passed away from this life on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at NHC Healthcare nursing home in Moulton, AL. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 8, 1936, the daughter of Edward "Pete" Miller and Ruth Miller.  She married James P. "Jim" Reist on December 20, 1957, and later moved to Decatur, AL.  She was a homemaker, wife, and mother.  She was a member of Westview Church of Christ that meets in Hartselle, AL.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband and dogs, and making new friends all over the country.   She is survived by her husband, James P. Reist of Hartselle; three children, Carol Birdwell (Anthony) of Rogersville, Glenn Reist (Tami) of Moulton, and Jimmy Reist (Gay) of Hartselle; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles E. Miller; and two stepchildren, Gary Reist and Cindy Wertz. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at NHC Healthcare in Moulton for all the love that was shown to her during her stay.
