Murray E. Millwee, Jr.

August 10, 1948 - April 29, 2018

Funeral service for Murray E. Millwee, Jr., age 69, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Jackie Kay officiating.  The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service. Murray E. Millwee, Jr. passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.  Mr. Millwee was born on August 10, 1948, to Murray Elton Millwee, Sr. and Mary Jean Motlow Spitzer. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Ann Hall Millwee of Decatur, AL; three daughters, Jennifer Anne Howell (Johny) of Hartselle, AL, Allyson Shabel (Leh) of Decatur, AL, and Laura Webster (Vincent) of Zachary, LA; one brother, James Millwee (Nejiba) of Decatur, AL; two sisters, Kathryn Motlow Millwee of Nashville, TN and Lea Millwee of CA; and six grandchildren, Anna Kate Howell, Ashtyn Howell, Megan Shabel, Will Webster, Josh Webster, and Luke Webster. Mr. Millwee was a member of Central Park Baptist Church, a Decatur City Council member for four years, a member of Rising Sun Lodge #29, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.  He served in the U. S. Army Reserve as a paratrooper and rigger.  He was a graduate of UNA and Troy State, holding a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in criminal justice.  He served the citizens of the State of Alabama, retiring after 36 years of service as a State Probation and Parole District Manager.
