Obituary

Funeral service for Billy Dee Vinson, age 86, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, December 29, 2020, 1:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.  Entombment will be in Roselawn Mausoleum.

Mr. Vinson, who died Monday, December 21, 2020, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born January 16, 1934, in Limestone County to John Thomas Vinson and Frances Leona Poteete Vinson.  He retired from the Decatur Daily following 36 years as a pressman, was a U. S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War, and a member of Parkview Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lora Mae Asherbranner Vinson of Decatur; one daughter, Teresa Conner (Lance) of Decatur; two stepsons, Douglas Allred and Chad Allred (April), both of Decatur; one stepdaughter, Kenithe Arnold (Tom) of Decatur; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
