Graveside service for Ola Nova Joe (Newton) Brown, age 90 of Decatur, will be Wednesday, February 10, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Burningtree Memorial Gardens with Bro. Charles Williams officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family requests that all attendees wear a mask, respect social distancing guidelines, and reserve tent seating for family.
Mrs. Brown passed away due to long-term effects of COVID-19 on Monday, February 8, 2021, at her residence for the past 10 years, Decatur Health & Rehabilitation, where she experienced social interaction, fulfillment, and a sense of security that she would not have known living at home alone. A huge thanks goes to her previous and current caregivers at Decatur Health & Rehab. He final year was made better by your unselfish and dedicated care. Ola was a quite wife, homemaker, mother, and grandmother. A few of her joys were buying purses and shoes, and watching for the mail man each day. She is enjoying reuniting with her mom and dad, brothers and sisters, and her husband, Jerden Brown.
As we remember her long life and celebrate her journey together, the joy of her memory is among those who shared her life: her children, Peggy Tankersley, Bobby Brown, Patricia Mayo, and Carolyn Parker; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
